Never not bowled over by this scene. Mitchell completely oblivious that he is, as far as Nina can tell, babbling absolute nonsense, and entirely unconscious that his body language is threatening as fuck in complete opposition to what he perceives his own intent to be. Nina has been uncomfortable with his erratic behavior and dishonesty, but this is the first time we see her straight-up scared of him, with rock-solid reason.
And Aidan and Sinead both play the stuffing out of it. Jaw on the floor, every time.
See you next year!
So. Much. Adorbs.
Also, I hope for poor Meaghan’s sake that all future seasons are shot in summer like this one was. Those offscreen thigh-highs are kinda proving my point…
I was the kind of guy who thought that life was just a series of choices. And if you kept making the right choice over and over and over again, that it will all add up to something safe and constant… a reasonable facsimile of what you thought you wanted, for yourself, for your future. But things get derailed. Stuff happens and you don’t always get a choice. And for a long time, I thought that was really unfair. Because I had big, big important plans. But I never would’ve met you. So I’m thankful that I was a complete blockhead. Because, as it turns out, life is just a series of accidents. And one of those accidents led me here. To you.
‘Josh, he saved me when I needed it. And he can’t help you now, but I can.’

I CAN’T EVEN WITH YOU GUYS.
“Oh my…”
“Look at it! It’s dangerous out there!”
“Always. But I’ll make you indestructible.”
I’m not asking you to do anything. - You are! You are asking me to look away and I can’t look away any more, because I have looked away. With you.
I will always value Being Human for its core of love and hope, and regard the pain and darkness as not-always-entirely-necessary evils.
That said, however, I think “The Longest Day” will stand the test of time as the most brilliant and powerful solid hour they produced.
