Russell Tovey: Doctor Who role would have terrified me | Radio Times
In a parallel universe where Matt Smith had turned left, Russell Tovey is the eleventh Doctor that could have been. The former Being Human star, seen last night in new ITV sitcom The Job Lot, has revealed that he auditioned for the role before Smith was cast.
Tovey, who previously featured as sailor Alonso Frame (pictured above) in Doctor Who Christmas special Voyage of the Damned, said he screen-tested for the part of the Time Lord after Russell T Davies suggested him as a replacement for David Tennant’s tenth Doctor.
This makes me grin as a quasi-formal confirmation that they would in fact consider a Doctor who has previously appeared as a guest star. Obviously there’s precedent for companions (both Freema Agyeman and Karen Gillan) and for classic Doctors (Colin Baker), but it’s still nice to hear.

I’m not asking you to do anything. - You are! You are asking me to look away and I can’t look away any more, because I have looked away. With you.
I will always value Being Human for its core of love and hope, and regard the pain and darkness as not-always-entirely-necessary evils.
That said, however, I think “The Longest Day” will stand the test of time as the most brilliant and powerful solid hour they produced.
All because they do not wish the pain they’ve endured on another soul.
Nothing spoils the mood faster than a COMPLETELY UNHINGED VAMPIRE.
More fun with MorphThing. Just to mess with your head. ;->
I actually attempted Mitchell/Sally and Annie/Aidan because they’re really the closer parallels personality-wise, but the results were just all kinds of O.o.

Nothing spoils the moment like a batshit crazy vampire who completely fails to even notice that he’s spoiling the moment.
However, Nina has the most darling taste in lingerie EVER. <3
